Conflict Resolution and Assertiveness Skills for Children

Complaints are an inevitable part of delivering childcare and, when handled effectively, can provide valuable opportunities to build trust with families, schools and other stakeholders, improve practice, and strengthen provider confidence. By supporting providers to develop easy to follow complaints processes Local Authorities can help providers to resolve concerns at the earliest opportunity.

This session will explore how Local Authorities can support providers to manage parental complaints effectively, ensuring concerns are addressed fairly, consistently, and professionally. We will consider common challenges providers face, practical approaches to resolving complaints, and how complaints can be used as a tool for continuous improvement rather than something to be feared.
