SEND and Inclusion Practice Forum – Collaborative Problem Solving

This interactive online session provides childcare, wraparound, and playwork staff with a supportive space to discuss real-life SEND and inclusion challenges from their own settings/services. Participants will have the opportunity to share concerns, reflect on practice, explore solutions, and learn from the experiences of colleagues.

The session is designed as a facilitated discussion rather than a formal training course, encouraging collaborative problem-solving, reflective practice, and confidence-building.

The focus is on understanding needs, sharing strategies, and identifying practical actions that can support children and young people with SEND in childcare and wraparound settings.

The session aims to:

  • Provide a safe and supportive space for discussion

  • Encourage peer learning and shared problem-solving

  • Increase confidence in supporting children with SEND

  • Promote reflective and inclusive practice

  • Explore practical solutions to real-life challenges

  • Identify when and how to seek further support

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the session participants will:

  • Have explored at least one SEND or inclusion challenge in greater depth

  • Gain ideas and strategies from peers and the facilitator

  • Reflect on different perspectives and approaches

  • Feel more confident in addressing inclusion concerns

  • Identify practical next steps for their own setting
