How Local Authorities can help providers strengthen staff development and evidence impact at inspection

Session Aim

To support Local Authority staff to understand EYFS expectations around supervision and coaching, and to confidently guide providers in developing strong staff support systems that improve practice and stand up to inspection.

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

• Understand EYFS requirements for staff supervision and coaching

• Recognise what effective practice looks like in real settings

• Identify what Ofsted looks for in relation to workforce support and development

• Support providers to evidence impact without increasing workload

• Feel more confident in having development-focused conversations with providers
